Born in Marseille, driven by a conviction
PHOCEA DC was born in Marseille, driven by a simple conviction: the city's digital development must go hand in hand with local, sovereign and responsible infrastructure.
Founded by Damien Desanti, a Marseille entrepreneur deeply attached to his home region, PHOCEA DC takes a different approach from large standardized projects. The goal is not to build data centers disconnected from their surroundings, but to develop infrastructure that can meet growing digital needs while respecting Marseille's urban, economic and environmental fabric.
As the city establishes itself as a strategic hub for telecommunications, subsea cables, cloud and data in Europe, PHOCEA DC was created to offer a French, sovereign and locally rooted alternative.

DC-M1, the project's foundation stone
After the design phase, PHOCEA DC began transforming its first Marseille site: DC-M1.
The project is based on the rehabilitation of an existing building, adapted to the requirements of a modern data center: secure power supply, critical cooling, technical monitoring, service continuity and high operating standards.
To carry out this transformation, PHOCEA DC relied on local partners and on the expertise of Schneider Electric, a global leader in electrical, energy and critical cooling infrastructure.
On January 23, 2025, DC-M1 was officially inaugurated, marking the operational starting point of the Marseille campus.
The sovereign data center benchmark in Marseille
By 2030, PHOCEA DC will have become the sovereign data center benchmark in Marseille and a credible alternative to the major market players backed by foreign or non-European capital.
The company will have consolidated its growth around a campus approach, with several MW of capacity deployed on the Marseille hub, to support the needs of businesses, operators, cloud players, CDNs and AI/HPC projects.
This trajectory will reflect PHOCEA DC's ambition: to offer local, connected, scalable and sustainable infrastructure, rooted in Marseille, financed and operated in France, in the service of better-controlled data and a more sovereign digital ecosystem.
